Commonly Asked Questions

How does the price compare to other brands?

At approx 0.40c per wash, we feel this is comparable to regular laundry detergent. The best part is no single use plastic, no mess and no harsh chemicals.

How many washes do I get per pack?

A pack does 32 washes. How you decide to use it is up to you. Some people love using a full sheet for more scent of our fragranced variety, others use 1 half a sheet which compares to what most traditional detergents call a “load”. You can also use our scent booster beads for more of a "perfumed washing smell". If your clothes are particularly dirty or you have a lot of them in the machine, you may like to use a full sheet rather than half. We recommend separating your lights and darks and prepping your clothes if they are stained with a pre-wash stain remover.

How do the sheets work?

Other laundry liquid detergents can be up to 90% water. We think it's nuts to send all of these giant shipping vessels half way round the world filled with heavy liquid contained in single use plastic bottles. Our strips use the water that is already going to be used in the machine as they are a dehydrated version of the liquid. The strips easily dissolve in hot or cold water. Simply place them in with your clothes or place it in where you would pour your detergent usually.

Are they ok to use with septic and grey-water?

Many of our customer use in these systems with no issues. Please consult our ingredients list to make your decision though.

Will they dissolve in cold water?

Yes, they will completely dissolve in both cold and hot water. They also create no microplastics as certified by OECD-302B. For further reference please read the conclusion in this scholarly article: https://www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.1515/tsd-2020-2326/html

I have very sensitive skin, will these be ok for me?

We have many customers say the laundry sheets cause no problems for their sensitive skin, but please consult a physician with the ingredients list to make your decision.

How many sheets should I use?

1/2 a sheet for 1 regular sized load. For more soiled loads or very large machines you may like to use a full sheet. Traditional detergent may mislead you! Liquid detergent bottles are designed to have a large opening or a large scoop. That encourages you to use more than you may really need. Our strips come in a pre-measured amount so you don't use too much.

How long can I store the sheets for?

They can be stored for up to 18 months, we suggest keeping them in an air tight container after opening.

Are your strips vegan friendly?

Yes, we use no animal products in our products, nor do we test this on them!

I've seen other strips on the market and would like to know what makes yours better.

We put a lot of heart and soul into our products, ensuring we have covered all bases when it comes to sustainable product design. We carefully chose our manufacturing partner to ensure a high quality product that works as expected but that also makes a massive difference to the environment. We partner with rePurpose Global who repatriate plastic (that's in our supply chain) from the environment on our behalf. We also collect and send to Terracycle any plastic that's involved in our supply chain to be recycled properly into new items.

Does you product clean as well as others?

es it does, please see our reviews and testimonials for further information.

How much energy/water goes into making your strips?

Our laundry strips are dehydrated, as compressed laundry detergent. The water used during production is about 1.5 times the weight of the strip. So, very little water is used during production. They also are not filled out with water or powders to bulk them up. They are small but powerful!

Where are the sheets made?

They are responsibly produced in China, we have no facility in Australia (yet) to manufacture them at this stage. The factory we partner with has obtained certification with OECD-301B for biodegradability and also BSCI for no child labour, fair wages and conditions and about 12 other certifications for better business practices. We pack them here in Australia using 100% recycled cardboard, so as to reduce the shipping weight/bulk and environmental impact of transporting heavy cardboard from another country. We understand some folks would prefer to have locally produced goods and if there was an option to produce here we would, this is our next best option and was made from careful consideration of all available options.
